Class 1: Crypto Trading Training
It starts from the point when I started trading on Bitmex. Not really. It actually starts from July last year when I was in Los Angeles preparing for my move across the ocean. I discovered ETH, BTC, XRP, NEO, XVG, and other perceived value coins, but that’s a different story and I’ll share it in the different post. Let’s go back to Bitmex as it quite changed my understanding and overall opinion of crypto. Since then, my romanticised vision of crypto trading is long gone and I have a relatively pragmatic approach. After wasting about $45K in it, it’s time to be pragmatic.
After 3 or 4 totally unsuccessful trades and a liquidation of all of my assets in ETH, I thought it would be a good time to give up and come back to my Delta portfolio of 80% loss at the moment. But something hit me and I decided to use my intuition and gut feeling to place another bet — yes, trading crypto today is a bet; trading crypto on Bitmex is a bet with 10x leverage. I transferred two of my exchange holdings of 0.35 BTC to Bitmex.
My initial rule of trading was simple, if something goes up, it will come down eventually. So I started to short as I saw a couple of good opportunities in the form of green candles. In this series, I’m going to post videos and techniques that will help me get where I want to be. Three points that I want to achieve are below and I do understand that there are also dependencies on the crypto world, e.g. ETF approval, and specific platforms, e.g. Bitmex gets hacked, etc.
